I’m not ashamed to say that I’ve always been a super duper sap.
There were few Oprah or Extreme Makeover: Home Edition shows I made it through without reaching for the tissues.
While I feel like I’m even more prone to getting teary eyed these days, I never would have thought a Homewood Suites by Hilton marketing campaign geared to military members, veterans and their families would result in Friday morning waterworks.
The heart-tugging photos (below) and tagline, “For all those moments you missed to serve us, it’s our turn to serve you,” just reinforced that there are far worse things than being laid off — like being overseas while your wife is pregnant, or being unable to hold your child’s hand on her way to a regular day at school, or not being home to watch your baby walk for the first time.
Oh, geez, here come the tears again. Somebody grab me a tissue, please.
